Chinese EV brands just took a record share of Europe — despite 45% tariffs

BYD, Chery, SAIC and Xpeng sold 171,800 cars in Western Europe in five months. The EU stacked duties up to 45.3% on them. It barely dented the trajectory — and the UK is taking a quarter of the total.
